DC Metro Chapter
The DC Metro Chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc., was established in 2003 by
Kimberley Alton-Calhoun, Kimberly Loder-Albritton, Kristina Ennix and Nicole Hyson. These four
dynamic ladies were friends or relatives of the co-founders of the original chapter, Houston, TX.
The inaugural membership in Washington, D.C. totaled 12 women who wanted to carry on the
organization’s mission by giving to less fortunate children and families in their area.
The organization has grown to 45 members since its inception. Fundraising efforts have
increased from $2,000 to over $50,000 from our two annual fundraising parties and corporate
sponsorship, and the outreach to families has expanded from the District of Columbia (DC) to
include the Metro DC area of Maryland and Virginia, and Baltimore, Maryland.

Greetings and welcome to the 2022-2023 season!
Twelve Days of Christmas DC Metro has a long and rich history of giving much needed resources to our families and community organizations and we are looking forward for that tradition to continue this year. While last year was quite a challenging season with the COVID-19 pandemic, DC Metro broke records and continued to set the bar high with raising more money and serving more families and organizations.
This year, my fellow Twelve Days of Christmas hostesses and I, look forward to new opportunities of service with our latest national initiative of literacy. Under the leadership of our national chair, Nicole Cober, each chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas will introduce books and activities that further engage, encourage and strengthen literacy skills to the children of the families in which we serve. I am here to say, the DC-Metro Chapter looks forward to leading the way with this initiative.
Further, while we are creating what our new normal is, and as our country begins to re-open, we look forward to conducting safe opportunities to see and serve our families. Also, I would be remiss if I did not thank my fellow hostesses for all of the hard philanthropic work that is done to support our mission. Finally, together, my fellow hostesses and I thank our corporate and individual sponsors as without you we would not be able to do the work.
Here’s to continued success in this new season, with all of the determination, love and great work we will do together!
